Designed to give the maximum clear opening and to run for years without maintenance interruptions. They fold upwards, so they occupy no floor or side space when open. Produced up to 50 m in one piece — and beyond that, without limit.
LID produces hangar doors, fold-up PVC fabric hangar doors, fabric hangar doors and fire-resistant doors for aircraft and helicopter maintenance hangars, shipyards, tram and trolleybus maintenance stations, and wide-span maintenance and protection hangars.
A hangar door is designed to provide the maximum transition area in a large hangar and to operate for many years without maintenance and malfunction. Special designs are prepared in our own structure according to the needs of each customer; we design, produce, implement and offer services in accordance with regional durability calculations — the wind and load conditions of the site the door will actually stand in.
Unlimited in width — hangar doors are produced in the width you want thanks to the folding side guide. Fabric doors fold upwards, which is why they occupy less space and keep the full opening usable.
Thanks to a usage performance compatible with all kinds of industrial environments:
The two features that matter most in these buildings are the same everywhere: the door requires the least possible space at its installation point, and it lets you use the passage to the maximum.
A hangar door provides a maximum width of 50 m in one piece. Above that, doors are synchronised with a mullion system, which gives the required size without any limit. Hangar doors can also be produced in solid 50 × 50 m dimensions.
| Maximum single-piece width | 50 m |
|---|---|
| Maximum solid dimensions | 50 × 50 m |
| Wider openings | Unlimited, doors synchronised via mullion system |
| Width flexibility | Produced to the width required, thanks to the folding side guide |
| Opening direction | Folds upwards |
| Side space required | None — the leaf stacks above the opening |
To quote a hangar door we need four items: clear opening width, clear opening height, the building structure it will be fixed to, and the installation location.
The standard equipment of the hangar door is the rope break safety system, two motors, two rope drums and one control unit.
If a rope fails, the system holds the leaf instead of letting it fall. On a door of this mass, this component decides whether a failure is an inconvenience or an accident.
Drive is shared across two motors rather than concentrated in one, which keeps the leaf balanced through the full travel of the door.
Load is carried symmetrically on both sides of the opening, so the leaf lifts level and the guides are not stressed unevenly.
A single control unit runs the door and coordinates the two motors, keeping operation simple for the facility team.
Production time for hangar doors is 45–50 days. Depending on the current load of the factory this period can extend to 60 to 90 days. We confirm the schedule in writing before the order is placed rather than after.
Hangar doors are special projects and their prices vary according to each project, so there is no fixed price. Dimensions, wind load, drive configuration and finish all change the figure — which is why we quote against your opening data instead of publishing a list.

The questions we are asked most often before a hangar door project starts.
Hangar doors are preferred for aircraft and helicopter maintenance hangars, shipyards, tram and trolleybus maintenance stations, and wide-span maintenance and protection hangars. They can be produced in solid 50 × 50 m dimensions.
Special designs are prepared in our own structure according to customer needs, and produced in accordance with regional durability calculations. Thanks to a usage performance compatible with all kinds of industrial environments they are used in production facilities, aircraft hangars, shipyards and recycling facilities. The door requires the least amount of space at its installation point and lets you use the passage to the maximum.

Production time for hangar doors is 45–50 days. Depending on the intensity of the factory, this period can be up to 60 to 90 days.
Since hangar doors are special projects, their prices vary according to each project, so the price of a hangar door is not fixed. Send us your opening dimensions for a project-based quotation.

Yes. We have completed projects in more than 25 countries including Iraq, Macedonia, Bangladesh, Algeria and Norway, with installation carried out by our own teams.
Clear width, clear height, building structure and location. Four items are enough for a first technical response and a project-based quotation.
